NeoLite LED Multiplexer Product Overview
Cymtec NeoLite has the following properties:
- LED multiplexer
- 2- 8 LED wavelengths
- Non-LED sources possible
- Novel design preserves brightness/etendue
- Low cost to manufacture
- Mechanically stable
- High reliability
Cymtec's patent pending LED multiplexer technology is based on well established techniques and technologies that have millions of deployed units, more than a decade of time in the field, and low failure rates.
Because the Neolite is manufactured in the same way as dielectric light pipes that have been used in projection display applications for many years, the assembly techniques have a proven history.
In fact, a portion of the NeoLite design is a hollow lightpipe identical to those discussed above.
Likewise, the hard, sputter coated filter and mirror elements in the design have accumulated billions of field hours in some of the most harsh applications on Earth including terrestrial and undersea telecom field deployment and instrumentation applications, and projection display with a FIT rate below 5.
A closer look at the application most closely related to the Neolite architecture in terms of reliability is that of color wheels and light pipes which were deployed in rear projection televisions and are still deployed in front projectors.
As mentioned above, the assemblies and optical coatings have survived in these environments without issue for more than a decade.
This environment is more severe than that of LED combination because the UHP lamps have UV content and heat loads that can be damaging to adhesives and optics.
